    The Never Ending Love Story

    New York City

Dolce Vita top // Express shorts // Coach heels // Kate Spade Clutch

I’ve always had an appreciation for fairytales while growing up with Disney. So when Kate Spade came out with book clutches inspired by romance novels, I was so excited. Being a (proud) hopeless romantic myself, I’d like to think the title will be a reflection of my life, while reminding me of past love stories, and crushes, alike.

Carrying this clutch instantaneously fills the air with love. And I’m sure that magical feeling will follow me everywhere that I carry it.

    Queen of Hearts

    New York City

French Connection top // Giorgio Armani pants // Zara heels

I am finally back from a long hiatus – did you miss me? It’s been an eventful summer and I am excited to be back with a whole new look (thank you, Fleur).

I have been searching high and low for the perfect pair of wide-legged trousers. I saw these Giorgio Armani trousers at Crossroad’s Trading and knew they had to be in my closet. They are relaxed, easy, and chic- the facets that define what an ideal pair of pants should be all about (am I right?). And, despite their evident toughness due to their boyish nature, these trousers can be the ultimate highlight for a completely refined look. I wanted to emphasize that womenswear habitually draws inspiration from menswear, so I chose this boxy t-shirt I stole from Moti’s closet to complete the look (Love you, Moti!).

NYFW starts next week, so be sure to follow my journey @janicethitran.

    Easy Going

Zara top // LF skirt // Alexander Wang Kori boots // Coach Bleecker Pinnacle clutch

For casual strolls through the city, comfortable casual wear is mandated, (or at least I think so).  I wore a (breathable) linen top paired with a mermaid-silhouette skirt to add a coy, yet flirty vibe. I also carried this gorgeous clutch from Coach. I am in love with the the mix of contrasting leathers giving me just enough room to carry the essentials.

To illustrate how my personal style has changed when I look back…I would say that I am almost always looking for something easy-going, comfortable, and versatile. I’ve become more vigilant towards my clothing expenditures. There are so many things that I’ve worn once before they hibernate (for forever) into the depths of my closet. As much as I love (and appreciate) the new trends and permutations of fashion, I think it’s more satisfying knowing that I can wear something more than once for many years- without having to worrying about an approaching expiration date… like sour, spoiled milk.
