    Queen of Hearts

    New York City

French Connection top // Giorgio Armani pants // Zara heels

I am finally back from a long, long hiatus – did you miss me? It’s been a long summer and I am excited to be back with a whole new look (thank you, Fleur).

I have been searching high and low for the perfect pair of wide-legged trousers. I saw these at Crossroad’s Trading and knew it had to be in my closet. These Giorgio Armani trousers are relaxed, easy, and chic. The are some of the facets that define what an ideal pair of pants should be all about (am I right?). And despite their evident toughness due to their boyish nature, these trousers can be the ultimate highlight for an completely refined look. The secret is to choose an opulent, gorgeous fabric and a pair of subtle heels (which are clearly non-existent in these photos). I wanted to emphasize that womenswear habitually draws inspiration from menswear, so I chose this boxy t-shirt I stole from Moti’s closet to complete the look (Love you, Moti!).

NYFW starts next week, so be sure to follow me @janicethitran on my journey.

    Easy Going

Zara top // LF skirt // Alexander Wang Kori boots // Coach Bleecker Pinnacle clutch

For casual strolls through the city, comfortable casual wear is mandated, (or at least I think so).  I wore a (breathable) linen top paired with a mermaid-silhouette skirt to add a coy, yet flirty vibe. I also carried this gorgeous clutch from Coach. I am in love with the the mix of contrasting leathers giving me just enough room to carry the essentials.

To illustrate how my personal style has changed when I look back…I would say that I am almost always looking for something easy-going, comfortable, and versatile. I’ve become more vigilant towards my clothing expenditures. There are so many things that I’ve worn once before they hibernate (for forever) into the depths of my closet. As much as I love (and appreciate) the new trends and permutations of fashion, I think it’s more satisfying knowing that I can wear something more than once for many years- without having to worrying about an approaching expiration date… like sour, spoiled milk.

    The Seaside

    1.STATE blouse // 1.STATE vest // 1.STATE skort // Report Rebecka heels // 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target cross body bag

It was the perfect day for some sweet lemonade and a stroll by the seaside with Moti. The view from Brooklyn looking into the city is especially remarkable. I can come here time and time again, and it will never get old. Let me just take this all in… There’s something in the New York air that makes sleep useless; perhaps it’s because your heart beats more quickly here than elsewhere.
